True to form, I started strong, but waned quickly. The 2019-2020 school year was complete CHAOS. We took our school on the road at the end of October. We drove up to Maine and spent time with great friends there. Then we made a home base at Grandma’s house in CT, while we visited NYC, NJ, and even flew to Spain and Israel. We finally returned home some time in January, only to move into a new home and get back on the road in February. This time we visited Costa Rica with friends. We arrived back home in time to quarantine due to the COVID-19 crisis.
We began our quarantine on March 1, 2020 and it is now August 3, 2020 – and we are still quarantined! All of our activities and social events have been cancelled indefinitely. We are in a small pod of “safe” families, but mostly we just pass the time. School has been a mess because it is so hard to keep consistent… and EVERYTHING is online now, from gymnastics to piano. It’s overwhelming. I try to let the girls have as much free time as possible. I set up a slackline and tons of other physically exhausting things around the house. Everyone is in great spirits, but it’s still very weird. I can’t believe it’s been almost 6 months already, with no end is sight. Most schools will be closed in the fall.
I hope to go back and retroactively post some fun photos of our adventures. The kids have grown so much! But now, I want to get back on track. Starting in August, like always… this time with a Kindergartner and a 3rd grader!
